When I know the exact number of degrees I need for an angled layout, I fit the protractor head onto my combination square. It works well enough, but the fine lines are hard to line up, and the blade on my square is just 12 in. long. This new Protractor T-Square from Woodpeckers solves those problems and more. It’s extremely accurate, with fine degree markings that are easy to line up. (The 90° setting was dead-on out of the box.) It’s available in sizes up to 32 in., though I’ve found that the 24-in. model is all I need. Other advantages include beveled edges for more accurate marking, a handy hanger, and built-in scribing holes, which guide your pencil in 1/16-in. increments when drawing lines parallel to an edge.
