I know we’re all thinking pink this spring (or all the time, hopefully), but Gigi Hadid is actually doing something about it. Instead of dreaming about the cotton candy her grandparents tasted in the ’60s, she time traveled right back to the decade and became it.
To celebrate her new April Vogue cover, Hadid starred in a Hairspray-themed video that featured plenty of fun, of-the-times hairstyles. From Tracy Turnblad’s Elnetted to the high heavens coif to the perfect Amber Von Tussle beehive, each one was becoming on the model. But that cotton candy pink retro bob? The nicest look in town.

Showing up in our lives just about a week after she premiered a silver blonde hair color to kick off Paris Fashion Week, the new shade is a soft, heavy-on-the-cherry blonde that really does look like freshly spun cotton candy.
The color was the work of celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who shared some behind the scenes insight into his process in an Instagram post. In one photo, he showed a rack full of pink hair. in another, he wore Hadid’s hairstyle on his own head—proof that it was a wig, but maybe she got inspired and will try out the color for real? (I know her daughter Khai is big into rainbows, and that would be a cool mom move.)

I don’t know if this was planned as a sneak preview or if Hadid simply liked the hairstyle and wanted to give it another spin, but her Vogue shoot bob was almost exactly the same as the style she wore to Le Grand Dîner du Louvre on March 4.
The retro ‘do featured a deeply swooped bang and upturned, curled ends that left off right at her jawline.

Oh, Gigi. Regardless of hair color, you’re timeless to me.
