I’m certainly not surprised when I see celebrity after celebrity step out with a nude or milky manicure. I’m not even disappointed—I understand the need to keep things understated and that trends have pull, even if they’re somewhat boring. But sometimes we just want a little bit more.
All that is to say, my latest zoom in on Halle Berry’s nails was proving mostly uneventful… until I looked a little closer. Sure, these nails are milky pink. But there’s something more going on, too. Is that… nail art? Indeed it is.
Halle Berry’s Simple Nail Art

The actor showed off the design at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 3. She was there to premiere the trailer for her new heist movie, Crime 101, alongside Chris Hemsworth. (Mark Ruffalo is also in it, but he didn’t make as many photo ops.)

With an opaque, milky pink base that went heavy on the milk—it’s reminding me of a lighter version of Selena Gomez’s rose milk shade—Berry’s nails were filed into a nice rounded square shape. Then, things got a little interesting. Her nail artist (I bet she went to her go-to, Kim Truong) painted a thin gold line on the bottom of each nail. It’s not quite a reverse French manicure, as the line doesn’t extend all the way to her cuticle, but that’s the idea here.

How to Get the Look
As far as nail art is concerned, this is a fairly simple look to copy. First, you’ll need a good milky pink polish like Olive & June’s Pink Sands. Paint on a couple of coats to ensure opacity before using a thin detail brush to draw that gold line near (but not right next to!) your cuticle. You can use the brand’s OJBH shade for that part.
And there you have it: the easiest, prettiest spring nail art. Thank you for changing things up, Halle. And for all you give us in general.
