A dark sword. An ancient monster. One hero caught between two worlds. Can the Drow fulfill her destiny?
Ellis never asked to be humanity’s last hope. But with a supernatural creature ravaging Los Angeles and the military closing in on her people, she has no choice.
As chaos engulfs the city, Ellis must master her mysterious shadow sword and uncover its connection to the rampaging monster. With her father, Connor and boyfriend, Charlie by her side, the Drow is going deeper into a hidden realm of old magic and long-buried secrets.
Will everyone come out alive?
Time is running out. The monster is growing stronger, and too many lives hang in the balance. To save everyone Ellis has vowed to protect, she must confront the beast and the painful history it represents.
Can Ellis bridge two worlds and bring peace, or will ancient grudges destroy everything? Will her forbidden love with Charlie survive the coming storm?
A dark sword. An ancient monster. One hero caught between two worlds. Can the Drow fulfill her destiny?
As with most urban fantasy series, I recommend listening to this series in the order of its release. The overall ARC, character relationships, villains and allies are more fully appreciated as the story progresses. Ellis has come a long way from the angry vigilante who was searching for her mother and misunderstood my her Drow clan.
After the nail-biting events of Drow NightRunner I was anxious to dive into Drow Requiem and the authors wasted no time in pulling me back into the story. Ellis must master her mysterious shadow sword and the magic it holds, but some in the Drow world want to come out to the humans and not all for peaceful reasons. Someone leaks a video revealing the Drow. We know who and why, but I will leave you to discover that. Things hit the fan and some Drow leaders unleash an ancient monster. It is up to Ellis, her allies, friends and boyfriend Charlie to unlock hidden secrets and save the world.
Hot damn, Carr & Anderle delivered another nail-biting installment with kickass moments, engaging battles and tough negotiations. Still not all want peace. Can Ellis save both the Drow and the humans?
Once again, Stephanie Savannah narrates. She does a wonderful job of transitioning from intense moments to snark and right into tender moments adding depth to the characters, even a mischievous bird. I highly recommend listening. The story is well written and lends itself perfectly to this format.
I am not sure if this is the last we will see of Ellis. The story wrapped up, but the door was left open for more adventures.
