Lisa Kleypas was an author I have wanted to try, and was delighted for the chance to listen to Someone to Watch Over Me narrated by Jessica Jeffries. A suspenseful regency romance between a bow street runner and a woman suffering from memory loss. A clever tale and the first in the Bow Street Runner series.

Someone to Watch Over Me is a classic tale from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas. In this Regency romance, Kleypas, the author of Seduce Me at Sunrise, tells the story of a scandalous beauty with no memory of who she is and the man determined to unravel the secrets of her past.
Coffee Dates with Someone to Watch Over Me
- First Date– Grant Morgan is a well liked and respected Bow Street Runner. When he is called out to the Thames, he expects to find a dead body, but the woman, though injured, is very much alive. In fact, he knows her. Vivien Rose Duvall, one of London’s most scandalous beauties. From her injuries, it is apparent someone means her harm, and Grant takes her home to his residence. Both soon discover she is suffering from memory loss. Right away, Kleypas had me hooked from the chemistry to the awkward scenario.
- Second Date- While Grant investigates, Vivien recovers, but she isn’t behaving at all like notorious courtesan. In fact, she is demure and well read. Grant finds himself attracted to her. Eep. As she recovers, Grant takes her to her rooms, but none of it feels familiar to Vivien, except for a small painting that niggles at her memories. I enjoyed their back-and-forth banter as Vivien tries to remember and Grant finds himself surprised that he rather likes her.
- Third Date- Passion, shock, truth, and trials awaited me as Viven’s memories return and both must decide their future. The story was well paced, and the narration was enjoyable. The characters from the bow street offices to the countryside engaged me. As Grant gets closer to solving who harmed Vivien, the danger increases and kept me listening well past my bedtime.
Jessica Jeffries narrates this newest edition of Someone to Watch Over Me and I liked both her male and female voices. I enjoyed the tale and look forward to the next audiobook in the Bow Street Runner series.
