One of our biggest goals at Fine Woodworking is helping to unite woodworkers with knowledge and like-minded communities. Jamie Harpster, Founder and President of Plane Wellness, is doing just that. His non-profit school, which offers in person and remote classes, focusing on those with physical and mental disabilities. In 2024 Jamie offered 144 free seats to students in various classes, 71 of those being veterans. His goal, to utilize the therapeutic value of working with your hands, is an admirable and amazing cause.
Plane Wellness is also hosting their first annual fundraising event, Hand Tool Haven, on July 19th, 2005. There is a good amount of vendors and Jamie, as well as Logan Wittmer from Popular Woodworking. A great opportunity to shop hand tools and meet other woodworkers in Pittsburg. PA
