Review: Ironbark Adjustable Squares – FineWoodworking

Heartwood Tools recently released two new sets of squares from Ironbark Toolworks that can be adjusted if they go out of whack. Their brass bodies are beautifully made, with a variety of infill woods available. Standard 90° “try” squares are available in four sizes, with stainless-steel blades ranging from 3 to 10 in. long. And 45° miter squares are available in three sizes: 4, 6, and 8 in.

I tried a 7-in. try square and a 4-in. miter square, and both were perfectly accurate out of the box. What’s innovative about them are two small set screws in the body, which can correct the angle of the blade. I like having squares that won’t be ruined if I drop them, and I highly recommend these.
